Stick ‘Em Up Exclusive Debut, Landmark River Oaks Theater, 2009 West Gray, 7:30pm/9:30pm/10:30pm, $10, tickets available at Aurora Picture Show website. Filmmaker Alex Luster of Shoot Edit Sleep shows the world of a guerilla art form called wheatpasting, in all stages: conception, creation, placement, and ultimately removal by city abatement/enforcement authorities. Ravensway Stables Benefit, Cypress ACE Hardware & Feed, 11655 Jones Road, 10am-2pm. On the night of February 13, a fire gutted the Ravensway Stables, taking the lives of six horses. This event is a fundraiser for those who lost a horse (100% of proceeds). Featuring: barbecue, silent auctions, new saddle raffle (tickets $2.50 each), petting zoo, tack sale, bake sale. Disco Green Electronic Music Festival, Discovery Green, noon-10pm. Back for a second year, Houston’s downtown park is transformed into an outdoor dance club. Beverage booths near the main stage will be available alongside the usual offerings at The Lake House and The Grove. Emily Johnson presents The Thank You Bar, Diverseworks, 1117 East Freeway, Thu/Fri 7:30pm & 9:30pm, Sat 7:30pm only. A performance/installation of dance, music and storytelling connecting ideas of displacement, longing, and language to history, pre-conceived notions, architecture, and myth. Created and performed by Alaska-born choreographer Emily Johnson with composers/musicians James Everest and Joel Pickard, with lighting design by Heidi Eckwall, beadwork by Karen Beaver, and paper sculpture by Krista Walsh. 11-M04-5
