Two events that came to my attention after the deadline for this week’s post needed more attention. One is kind of outside the usual focus of this blog, both in location and type, but I feel the cause is important enough to bend the rules a bit. So my first special edition LOVIEE comes much sooner than it otherwise would have.

The Montgomery County Humane Society is closing and needs help finding homes for its remaining animals before the city of Conroe takes over operations of the shelter. Adoption fees are waived. 407 Sgt. Ed Holcome Blvd. in Conroe, noon-4pm. 09-S-0

Monday 09-21

Opera in the Heights is hosting a dress rehersal party celebrating and preceding its season opener, Il Tabarrro/Pagliacci. A drawing will take place for a small walk-on part for the production of Pagliacci.
